You may request a compliance dismissal of your citation, if you are charged with the following offense(s):
- Expired driver's license
- Expired motor vehicle registration
- Expired motor vehicle inspection
- Failure to change name or address on your driver's license
- Failure to display your driver's license
- Defective equipment
- Expired disabled parking placard
In order to qualify for a compliance dismissal, you must provide the court with written documentation and proof that you brought the deficiencies into compliance on or before your initial appearance date and pay a $10 or $20 dollar dismissal fee, depending on the violation.
If your citation and the supporting documentation meets the legal requirement(s) for dismissal, the violation will be dismissed and not reported to the Department of Public Safety as a conviction against your driving record.
Please note that certain infractions maybe eligible for five additional business days in order to bring them into compliance.
Failure to Maintain Liability Insurance
If you were cited for Failure to Maintain Insurance & had insurance at the time of the stop, you will need to provide proof of insurance to the Municipal Court. If it is verified to be good at the time of the stop, we may dismiss the citation at no charge to you. We cannot dismiss if insurance was not in effect at the time of the stop.
