The Public Information Officer (PIO) serves as the official spokesperson for the Police Department and handles all requests for information from both the media and the public. The PIO is responsible for:

  • The daily requests from the media about events concerning the Cleburne Police Department and incidents being investigated
  • Serves as the liaison and refers members of the media to appropriate members of the agency for interview requests
  • Conducts television and radio interviews regarding Cleburne Police Department issues
  • Responds to major crime scenes to handle media requests and manage media access
  • Assists and coordinates press conferences initiated by the Department
  • Manages the Department's Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram)

Officer Kerri Abbott leads the Cleburne Police Department's PIO team. Officer Abbott has served the Department since 2000.
