All Aboard Cleburne Small Business Grant Program

all aboard cleburne winter logoThe City of Cleburne is pleased to announce continuation of the “All Aboard Cleburne” Small Business Grant Program (“Program”). The Program’s purpose is to provide financial relief to Cleburne businesses that have suffered economic hardship and lost revenues related to the COVID-19 pandemic. One-time payments of $5,000 will be distributed to eligible businesses if certain guidelines and criteria are met. The Program will continue until funding in an amount not to exceed $180,000.00 is expended or upon other direction of the City Council. Grants will be awarded in two phases based upon demand and available funding, with the first phase being approximately $100,000.

Eligibility and Consideration

In order to qualify for funding under the Program, the applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Business must have suffered interruption of operations caused by required closures related to the COVID-19 pandemic. This may include, for example, businesses that close voluntarily to promote social distancing measures or that have been affected by decreased customer demand as a result of the COVID-19 public health emergency
  • Business must be located within the city limits of Cleburne, established with the Secretary of State, and proof of ownership will be required 
  • No non-registered sole proprietorships, home-based businesses, or nationally-based non-profits will be eligible
  • Business must have a physical location exclusively for commercial purposes
  • Business has been open prior to January 1, 2020  and business interruption(s) shall have occurred after March 1, 2020
  • Business must be current on property taxes, if applicable
  • Business has no more than fifty (50) employees  (excluding restaurants)
  • Proof that business is currently open and operational unless mandated by executive orders to be closed due to COVID-19
  • National chains and franchises associated with a national parent company are not eligible

Application and Review Process

Completed application shall be emailed to grady.easdon@cleburne.net. The electronic copy DOES NOT need to be notarized and will serve as a placeholder until information is verified. Applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis starting Oct. 28, 2020. Upon notification of eligibility and/or acceptance, a NOTARIZED HARD COPY AND IRS FORM W-9 must be delivered to City Hall within five (5) days at:

  • Application form must be fully completed and any additional information requested by the City of Cleburne must be provided in order for the application to be considered
  • Recipients of previous All Aboard Cleburne funding are not excluded from applying. However, priority will first be given to those applicants who previously applied but did not receive payment due to depletion of Program funds 
  • Once City of Cleburne staff has verified that all requirements have been met, a one-time payment of $5,000 will be issued to the eligible business
