2/21/2018 - Field reporters from NBC5 and CBS11 stopped by the Fire Administration Office regarding the water rescue that occurred this morning.
The scene was located at the low water crossing on CR 1126 in the Godley Fire District, in which Cleburne Fire responded to a call for mutual aid.
Godley FD arrived initially but were unable to reach the victim from their side of the river. Clebure Fire Department arrived on the other side of the river and placed a ladder from the shore to the hood of the victim’s car. Firefighter, E. Hammons went across the ladder onto the hood of the car and broke the side window out of the vehicle. He then assisted the victim onto the ladder and over to the shore. Almost immediately after reaching the shore, the car was washed away. The victim is safe and sustained no injuries. No CFD personnel or other responders were injured in the incident.
