The Cleburne Police Department will begin a new class of its Citizens Police Academy allowing community members to get hands-on experience on the police department’s operations.
Attendees will learn about crime analysis, special investigations, crime scene search, SWAT Team, and more directly from Cleburne Police officers. The free academy begins Sept. 4 and meets from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays through 12 weeks.
This is the first time the department is rolling out a lunch-time course. Students that graduate from the academy are eligible to volunteer as part of the Police Department’s Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS).
Those interested must be at least 18-years-old and live, work, or volunteer in Cleburne. Registration is required.
