[ARCHIVED] Join Cleburne PD for National Night Out on Sept. 29

National Night Out 2016

Cleburne Police Department and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office will host a kick-off event in honor of National Night Out on from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at Hulen Park. Cleburne Police invite all Johnson County residents to join the community for an evening full of games, activities, food, and safety information.

Then from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, neighborhoods throughout Cleburne are invited to join with thousands of communities statewide for the 35th Annual National Night Out. Residents across the nation participate by turning on their porch lights, locking their doors and spending the evening outside with their neighbors, police officers, firefighters, and EMS paramedics. Many neighborhoods use this time to hosts cookouts, block parties, and neighborhood walks.

“National Night Out” is designed to:

  1. Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness.
  2. Generate support and participation in crime efforts.
  3. Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community relations.
  4. Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

This evening is a great opportunity for citizens and law enforcement to partner against crime. Cleburne Police encourage everyone to meet their neighbors and commit to helping law enforcement reduce crime in the community. It is time to show the criminal element that we as a society are not going to just sit back and let crime occur in our neighborhoods. Texas and Florida chose to have National Night Out in October due to the heat during the summer.
