Crews have begun the 2018 Street Microsurfacing Project across Cleburne. The contractor will install a layer of pavement, creating a fresh driving surface that motorists can feel.
The work began today on Boone Street, from Main to Sabine. It will also include Hillsboro Street from Westhill to Country Club, Prairie Avenue from Henderson to Featherston, Granbury Street from Bales to Henderson, Olive Street from Colorado to Washington, Myers Street from North Wood to Baird, South Ridgeway Drive from Henderson to Westhill, And South Colonial Drive from Henderson to Westhill.
This work requires the temporary closure of the street as crews lay the pavement and then allow it to dry. The closures are anticipated to last about a day.
Microsurfacing is one technique the city uses to maintain and improve its infrastructure, other processes include mill and overlay, and complete reconstruction.
