Cleburne is one of the top 10 safest driving cities in Texas, according to QuoteWizard.com.
The insurance website listed the top 15 safest driving cities in the state using incident data including speeding tickets, accidents, DUIs, and other citations. Cleburne came in at number 10 just behind Mabank and McAllen, Texas.
“We have focused on a systematic, evidence-based approach to promote safe driving in Cleburne,” said Police Chief Robert Severance. “This includes public outreach and education, partnerships with schools and other stakeholders in our community, engaging citizen volunteers, highly visible traffic enforcement, and using data to align our resources.”
The City had 12,731 traffic stops in 2017. The most frequently cited traffic violations are invalid or expired driver’s license, speeding, no liability insurance, expired license plate, and failure to stop. Cleburne Police responded to 782 traffic collisions.
Cleburne is the only Johnson County city to make the list. Other North Texas cities include Mabank and Dallas. The top three ranking cities are Eagle Pass, Marshall, and Brownsville, respectively.
