The City of Cleburne has two concert series that bring live music to town and celebrate local artists.
The City’s popular and free events the Market Square Concert Series and Hulen Park Concert Series return this June. The former brings two big acts to downtown while the later showcases four local artists on four different nights in a more intimate concert setting.
Both concert series are BYOC – Bring Your Own Chair – and attendees are allowed and encouraged to bring lawn blankets, coolers, and food and drink.
Market Square Concert Series
This year’s Market Square Concert Series celebrates country with two nights of great music.
This year’s first concert on June 22 at Market Square features Cody Canada & The Departed. This group is a blend of hard-edged country and rock & roll. Opening for the headliner is Brandon Rhyder, who gets things started at 7 p.m. Rhyder is a Texan whose Texas Country/Red Dirt sound and lyrics will set the mood to have a good time before Cody Canada & The Departed come on stage at 9 p.m.
Roger Creager rounds out the concert series with his Gulf sound on June 29. Creager’s summer-vibe tunes and fun lyrics will take you to the beaches of Texas. Before Creager takes the stage at 9 p.m., Curtis Grimes will open at 7 p.m. The Texas Country Music Association has named Grimes Country Christian Artists of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Country Christian Song of the Year.
As always, the Market Square Concert Series is family friendly and cooler friendly. Concert-goers are more than welcome to bring their own food and drink but food trucks will also be on site selling tacos and snow cones.
Hulen Park Concert Series
The Hulen Park Concert Series brings local artists a place to share their music with the community for an intimate concert at the gazebo with plenty of room for the kids to play or for couples to dance.
The concerts begin at 8 p.m. every Tuesday in June.
