Cleburne’s Police and Fire departments received recognition for their leadership in a program that works to improve the response to traffic incidents.
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) recognized the city’s departments for their participation with the state’s Traffic Incident Management Program. The state commended Cleburne’s police officers and firefighters for their leadership and support of the program in the region.
“They helped us build this program in Johnson County,” TxDOT’s Anthony White said of the city’s Police and Fire leadership. “Now Johnson County is a poster child for how a team program should be put together.”
The program brings together the state and neighboring public safety organizations to initiate a common, coordinated response to traffic incidents, building partnerships, enhancing safety for emergency personnel, reducing upstream traffic accidents, and improving the efficiency of the transportation system.
“Traffic safety is important to the community,” Assistant Police Chief Linn Goodman said. “Because of this, Police and Fire have been active with the traffic incident management program.”
