Storefront by storefront, downtown Cleburne and the Henderson and Main corridors are being refreshed with inviting looks.
From its inception in 2016, the City of Cleburne’s Façade Improvement Matching Incentive Program has assisted and encouraged local business owners to restore and refresh the look of the city’s commercial centers.
The City Council approved the most recent grant in August, totaling $66,145 in façade matching incentives stemming from 2016. The program provides dollar-for-dollar matching funds of up to $5,000 for eligible improvements in Cleburne. The work that has been done includes replaced facades, new paint, a mural, new awnings, new windows, and more.
This program started in late 2016. The City Council’s proposed budget plans to extend the program’s $50,000 funding for another year. The Façade Improvement Matching Incentive Program works alongside the Downtown Building Rehabilitation Program to spur Cleburne’s economic development.
