Governor’s executive order requires local businesses to reduce capacity to 50%

Governor Greg Abbott with his Open Texas plan

Per Gov. Greg Abbott’s executive order 32, local businesses that were operating at 75% occupancy must reduce their capacity to 50% occupancy due to the current COVID-19 hospitalization rate in the region starting Dec. 4.

In Trauma Service Areas that have 15% COVID-19 patient rate for seven consecutive days, most businesses must scale back occupancy, as written in the governor’s order. The order also mandates bars to close. Cleburne is in Trauma Service Area – E, which includes most of North Texas. In order for business to return to 75% occupancy, the Trauma Service Area must have seven consecutive days below a 15% COVID-19 hospitalization rate.

There are some exclusions to the capacity limitations which can be found by reading the full executive order. For complete details see Executive Order 32.
