[ARCHIVED] City offices closed Feb. 16 due to power outages, trash pickup delayed another day

City Hall

UPDATE: City of Cleburne offices will not open today, Feb. 16, as originally anticipated due to ongoing power outages at City Hall and other city facilities. City staff continues to monitor the weather and electrical supply and will communicate any updates.

Public safety and essential personnel remain on duty and the Cleburne Conference Center continues to serve as a warming station for those in need.

City of Cleburne facilities and offices have a delayed opening at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, due to ongoing winter weather conditions.

These hours include all city services and facilities. City staff will continues to monitor the situation and may update the hours of closing as needed.

Sanitation

Trash pickup routes will be delayed another day, so the Monday route will run on Wednesday. Due to the current road conditions, crews may still be behind picking up trash. Customers should leave trash on the curb as staff works to run all routes by the week’s end. The Transfer Station will be open, but with limited staffing.

Conference Center Warming Shelter

The Cleburne Conference Center, 1501 W. Henderson St., remains open as an on-going warming shelter. Those that may need assistance traveling to the center can call police dispatch at 817-645-0972.

Vaccination Hub

Cleburne Fire has rescheduled all Tuesday COVID-19 vaccination injection appointments to the same time on Saturday, Feb. 20. We will continue to monitor the situation and may reschedule appointments for later in the week. Staff is contacting those with appointments directly and will post any updates online. Staff has postponed registering new appointments and will make an announcement before registration goes live in the future.

Public Safety

Police and Fire crews remain on schedule for emergencies. Police and Code Compliance officers have been working with a third-party organization to assist those without shelter. If you know someone who may need assistance or a wellbeing check contact police dispatch at 817-645-0972.

Public Works

Public Works crews continue to treat public roadways and maintain city services. The primary focus for treating public roadways is intersections, bridges, public safety facilities, the hospital and heavily traveled roadways. If you see or suspect a water main break please contact the Public Works emergency line at 817-645-0972.

Public Transportation

City/County Transportation (CLETRAN) will not operate on Tuesday.

Due to the extended nature of this winter event, staff will continue to monitor the situation for the days ahead. Staff will post any updates or changes to city operations to the city website and social media accounts. We encourage the public to monitor the weather and follow public safety instructions to remain safe.
