[ARCHIVED] The City has implemented stage 2 water restrictions

The City has implemented stage 2 water restrictions under the requirements of the state water regulators. The following are restrictions for all customers on the City of Cleburne water system.
No watering of landscape, shrubs, and grass between the hours of 9:00 am to 6:00 pm – attended watering with a hose or bucket is not restricted
No washing windows, sidings, eaves, roofs, driveways, streets, curbs and gutter, and vehicles without a hose cut-off nozzle and a bucket.
Violations of the water restrictions are punishable by a fine of not less than $500 or more than $2,000
If these restrictions do not achieve the needed reduction, additional limitations will be added.
Conservation ideas include washing vehicles on the lawn using a hose nozzle allowing the wash and rinse water to water the lawn; setting a kitchen timer as a reminder to turn off your sprinkler; adjust lawn mower to a high setting; turn off water while shaving and brushing your teeth; when hand washing dishes, fill a wash side and a rinse side – rinse water can be used to water plants; run the dishwasher and laundry only when there is a full load; and shorten your shower by a minute or two.
More information is available at face book, twitter, and charter cable. Water saving tip brochures are available at city hall, the utility billing office and the library.
The City of Cleburne appreciates your conservation efforts as we try to manage our precious resource of water during this record drought.
If you have questions, or want to report a restriction violation, please call
817-645-0946 or 817-556-8819.
