New businesses and more homes sum up the April 2021 economic development quarterly update.
Economic Development manager Grady Easdon presented the update to the City Council at the April 27 meeting. The presentation showcased business openings and developments and a look at the residential growth in Cleburne.
Several new businesses are coming to Cleburne in April. Super Garcia Meat Market, at 759 N. Main St., and Aldi, 1708 W. Henderson St., opened earlier this month. The 7-Eleven at McAnear and W. Henderson is scheduled to open on Thursday, April 29.
Easdon also highlighted the construction of the upcoming Popeye’s Chicken and the Avalanche Car Wash both on W. Henderson.
Cleburne continues to see growth in residential development. The city has issued 171 new residential permits this year through March 2021 compared to 67 through March 2020. Many of the new homes are for new neighborhoods across the city. Construction has also begun on the 288-unit Cleburne Trails Apartments adjacent to Hill College.
