The City of Cleburne Honors Local Veterans

Veterans Memorial

The City of Cleburne is proud to recognize and celebrate military veterans, the men and women who served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Veterans Day is a federal holiday observed annually on Nov. 11. It is a time to reflect and honor those who have served and sacrificed to keep our freedom.

The U.S. military has six branches of service: the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps and Space Force.

As a small token of appreciation for local veterans, Cleburne’s museums will host a Veterans Day breakfast on Friday, No.v.11 at 10 a.m. The event offers free coffee and donuts, music and stories of local heroes. It will take place at the Cleburne Railroad Museum, located at 206 N. Main St.

To remember veterans year-round, the City also has a star-shaped veterans memorial at Hulen Park. The star is a symbol of excellence and a beacon of hope that guides the way. A flagpole waving the U.S. flag stands in the middle of the star to remind the community of a veteran’s service to this country.
