The new year marked the start of the Sparks Road Connection Project, which will provide better accessibility near the industrial area of Cleburne. Crews are in the area prepping the construction site for the project.
Sparks Drive currently runs from County Road 1017 to the Chisolm Trail Parkway. It then disconnects and continues to intersect at County Road 1022. The Sparks Drive Connection Project will allow for a straight drive between the two county roads. There will also be a new bridge built over West Buffalo Creek.
One-third of the project is being funded through a grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA). It is estimated to take 320 days to complete.
