Road repairs and utility work for the streets identified in the City of Cleburne’s 2022 Street Maintenance Program are currently underway.
Phase one of the program, which included the repaving of eight streets, is complete.
Crews are now working on the renewal of utility lines and resurfacing of roads that are a part of phase two. Those roads include portions of:
- Anglin Street
- Euclid Street
- George Street
- Kouns Street
- Turner Street
- Whitenack Street
- Wilhite Street
- Wilson Street
Work on Turner and Euclid streets has begun. Kouns Street will undergo construction beginning Monday, Jan. 30.
Since crews are being more efficient by doing a full replacement of utility lines and then repaving roads, the work is estimated to take up to four months for each street. Weather and other delays could extend the work time required.
Motorists in the construction areas are being asked to please use caution in work zones and watch out for workers. Delays or detours will be required during certain work activities.
The City of Cleburne uses data to pinpoint the best budgetary investments for its street network. Since 2019, around 26 miles of roadway have been resurfaced. Learn more about the Street Maintenance Program here.
