As part of the City of Cleburne’s water conservation and drought management plans, the City is implementing a year-round, twice-a-week outdoor irrigation schedule with assigned days for all water customers.
The new schedule, which goes into effect on April 3, 2023, promotes water conservation and proper irrigation cycles. It also helps to reduce the impacts of drought while lessening the demands of peak water usage.
Please note the permanent outdoor watering schedule for Cleburne water customers beginning April 3:
Residential addresses ending in EVEN numbers(0, 2, 4, 6, 8)
Residential addresses ending in ODD numbers(1, 3, 5,7, 9)
Thursday and Sunday
In addition to the designated days, unattended watering or irrigation will not be allowed between the times of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. to encourage good watering processes and prevent evaporative loss.
Hand watering or drip irrigation may still occur on any day and timeframe. The use of well water, treated wastewater (effluent) or other alternative water supply sources for irrigation is also exempt from the watering schedule. View more information about exceptions to the watering schedule here.
A vast majority of cities in the North Texas region have already adopted year-round watering schedules, including Fort Worth, Arlington and Dallas.
