Get ready for an amazing summer of fun, exploration and learning right here in our vibrant community. The City of Cleburne is proud to present a diverse range of exciting summer programs designed to engage and entertain children of all ages.
If you’re wanting free activities, the Cleburne Public Library has you covered starting on Friday, June 2. Throughout the summer, the library staff will host everything from crafts, petting zoos, movie nights, puppet shows, magic shows and more. View the library’s summer calendar here. (Please note that the calendar is subject to change.)
Our Parks and Recreation Department has some exciting activities for children as well. The Cleburne Railroad Museum will host a Boxcar Camp June 12-16 from 9 a.m. to noon each day. It’s for children ages 7 through 11 and will feature activities inspired by the Boxcar Children books. The cost is $35 per child ($25 per child for Friends of the Museum members). Call the museum at 817-645-0940 to sign up.
The Booker T. Washington Recreation Center will also be the place to be for engaging activities. From June 26 through 30, there will be a Lego Mania Camp (for ages 4-7), Lego Science Camp (for ages 8-12), Fashion Designer Camp (for ages 8-12), and Survival Tactics Camp (for ages 7-12). Each camp costs $90 to participate. For descriptions of each session and to see the specific times, take a look at the brochure here,
