Golfers may have noticed a number of survey markers, primarily along the perimeter of the golf course. These markers indicate the location of the City of Cleburne’s West Loop Reuse Water line that is part of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Expansion and Reuse Pump Station Project to address the increase in population and wastewater and water supply demand increases.
The water line construction in the area of Cleburne Golf Links is scheduled to begin within the next two weeks. It will involve digging a 4-foot-wide ditch to place the 20-inch water line.
The project will not impact any putting greens and should only impact the back tees of #10, 14 and possibly #16.
There will be some re-routing of cart traffic in some areas where cart paths will be affected by the work zone for the pipeline. The largest impact to the golf course, from a golfing standpoint, will be noise. Contractors will be working as diligently and quickly as possible to minimize impacts to the golf course, while completing the project by the scheduled deadline.
The project will begin at the north end of the golf course, near #9 green and proceed along the perimeter fence. Once the line reaches the southern end of hole #14, it will proceed along the right side of the practice range and parking lot, then contractors will bore beneath the entry road. Once the project is south of the entrance, they will continue to dig ditches along the perimeter fence and exit the golf course property behind the 17th tee.
