[ARCHIVED] Cleburne Junior Golf Championships Decided on Final Holes

The Title for the Junior Golf Championships came down to the final few holes, in several divisions, during Tuesday's final round.  Sadie Suchoza, of Fort Worth claimed the Girls 11-14 title.  While she was the only competitor for this age group, she improved her score by 8 shots during round two, while competing alongside girls from the oldest division of the Junior Championships.  She had rounds of 113 and 105 for total of 218.

In the Girls 15-18 Division, Ella Barton of Fort Worth pulled off the repeat title with stellar play.  Her one over par 73 was the round of the tournament for the girls as she fired a two day total of 151, for a 17 shot victory.  The silver medal went to Addisyn Kinnan of Mansfield with rounds of 80 and 88 for a 168 total.  Emilee Slovak shot 82 -88 to claim the bronze medal in the division.

In the Boys 8-10 Division Townes Chauveaux of Granbury had 9 hole rounds of 33 and32 to claim the Division title by 3 shots over defending champion Grady Rhidenour, of Godley.  Lane Meeks Hackler of claimed the third position. 

In the Boys 11-14 Division, first round leader Jack Daly of Granbury claimed a 10 shot victory over Jaxon Hill, also of Granbury.  Daly had rounds of 81-87 for a 168 total.  Jaxon Hill held off Grant Lawson of Granbury with rounds of 88-90 for a total of 178.  Lawson had rounds of 92-87 to finish one shot back of Hill.

The rounds of the day came in the Boys 15-18 division with three of the final six players on the course, under par in the final round.  Kobe Fielder of North Richland Hills overtook Landon Johnson with a 3 under par round of 69 to finish at 4 under par and claim a one shot victory.  Johnson, of Grandview, had rounds of 68 and 73 to finish second at 141.  Cleburne's Carson Rosser had the round of the tournament, firing a 5 under par 67 in the final round to finish tied with Kendrick Hoster of Weatherford at 2 under par, 142.  Hoster had a great round of 4 under par 68 in the final round, following his 2 over par74 yesterday.  Just 2 shots separated the top four players who were a combined 11 under par over the two day event.

The 2023 Cleburne Junior Golf Championship featured 37 competitors from the surrounding area, including Cleburne, Alvarado, Blum, Burleson,  Cresson, Crowley, Fort Worth, Glen Rose, Godley, Granbury, Grandview, Joshua, Mansfield, Millsap, North Richland Hills, Rainbow, Saginaw,  and Weatherford.  For Final Results, please go to https://www.cleburne.net/1404/City-of-Cleburne-Golf-Championships.
