Filing Period Open for Four Council Seats

Vacant Council Seat

Cleburne City Council consists of a mayor and four councilmembers serving two-year terms. Councilmembers are elected by their representing single-member districts (SMD), and the mayor is elected at-large.

Council called for a general election and a special election to be held on May 4, 2024 to fill four council seats.

The general election will include the Mayor, SMD 1 and SMD 4 positions.

The special election will be for the SMD 3 seat, which Mayor Pro Tem Mike Mann has been serving in the interim after announcing that he will not go for re-election.

Qualified individuals who are interested in running in these races must submit a candidate packet before the deadline.

  • The deadline to file for the Mayor, SMD 1 and SMD 4 seats is Feb. 16 (general election).
  • The deadline to file for the SMD 3 seat is March 4 (special election).
