1. What do I do...I just received a citation?

Your citation will be filed in the Court within three business days. You must make an appearance in person, by mail or you can access the internet and take care of the citation on-line.

2. When do I appear to pay for my citation?

You have 15 calendar days (10 working days) from the date you received your citation to appear. You may appear in person, by mail,by accessing the internet, or by an attorney. If you fail to make an appearance within 15 calendar days, a warrant may be issued for your arrest.

3. When can I find out the cost of my citation?

Please allow three business days for the Court to receive the citation from the police department.

4. How can I pay for my citation?

There are three ways you may appear:
In person at the court window or use the Court's night drop, located at 303 West Henderson in Cleburne.

You may sign the green information form that you were provided by the Police Officer and mail it to: Cleburne Municipal Court P.O. Box 677 Cleburne, Tx.76033.

5. Do I have to have an appointment to see the Judge?

Yes...litigants must set an appointment to see the Judge on a specific day and time in open court. You must appear on or before the appearance date, on your citation, to seek audience with the Judge of the Court.

6. Can I take care of my wife/husband's ticket?

No...only the person who received the citation or their attorney may enter a plea. However, once the plea has been entered and arrangements have been made, anyone may make the payment.

9. How can I keep this ticket from affecting my driving record?

There are two ways to keep a citation from affecting your driving record...One way is a driving safety course. You must be eligible based on the guidelines set in the statutory law. If eligible you will pay a fee with specific terms and conditions. The second way is Deferred Disposition. This is a period of time set by the Judge with specific conditions and a special expense fee. Once it is complete the case will be dismissed and will not affect your permanent driving record.

10. Can I just take care of my ticket over the phone?

No...You must enter a plea to your violation and that cannot be done over the telephone.

11. I received a ticket in Cleburne from a state trooper/sheriff deputy/constable... can I take care of it here?

No... you must contact Johnson County at 817-558-0111.
The Cleburne Municipal Court has jurisdiction over offenses written by cleburne police officers, code enforcement officers, animal control officers and the City Fire Marshall.

12. I received a ticket for no insurance but I purchased it today... Can I get it dismissed?

No... In order to get an insurance citation dismissed, you must provide proof that you had insurance on the day and time the police officer pulled you over... you cannot purchase it "after the fact" and get a dismissal.
