Plumbing Permit Procedures - Winter Storm Event

The City of Cleburne Building Inspections Division is working to provide relief to the community recovering from damage resulting from the recent weather events occurring on or about February 14, 2021 through February 18, 2021. To further this mission, staff has revised the permitting process for plumbing permits to expedite approval and inspections of necessary repairs to plumbing systems. 

Beginning at noon Friday, February 19, 2021, the following procedures will be implemented for all Plumbing Permits submitted for repairs due to storm damage occurring within the timeframe stated above

  • Plumbing permit fees are waived for repairs due to storm damage. The period for waiver of plumbing permit fees will expire at 5 p.m. on March 19, 2021
  • Plumbing permit applications may be accessed and submitted online at: www.cleburne.net/buildingpermits 
  • Submittal of a plumbing permit shall constitute approval to begin repairs
  • Plumbing permits will be approved and issued the same day the permit is received
  • Staff will make every attempt to complete inspections on the same day as requested; however, due to potential volume additional time may be required.

Staff will continue to monitor the situation and quantity of permits submitted. Additional measures may be implemented to assist with expediting inspections and final approvals.

Submit Your Building Permits Online

All permits may be submitted online and completed by clicking on the appropriate link below. The link will take you to a form that can be filled out electronically. Once you have completed the required information, click the blue “Submit & Sign” button in the lower right hand corner. If you have any supporting documentation (plans, etc.), please email those to buildingplans@cleburne.net and include the address of the project in the email. 

Once your permit is processed, you will receive an email from City staff. When your permit is approved, City staff will call you to let you know your permit is ready. At that time, you can choose to have your permit emailed to you, or you can request a hard copy. Hard copy permits will be delivered to you by the building inspector at the time you call for an inspection.

Submit Your Building Permits In-Person

You may drop off permit applications at City Hall. A drop bin will be located outside the front door of City Hall for any hard copy materials needing to be processed.

Issuing Your Building Permit

Once your permit has been approved, City staff will email a copy of the approved permit to you at the email address provided on the application. This permit should be printed and displayed at the job site.

If you cannot receive a permit by email, City staff will print a hard copy and it will be delivered by the Building Inspector at the time of inspection.

  • Payments may be made by credit card over the phone. Please call 817-645-0955 
  • Payments by check may be dropped off at City Hall. A collection bin is located at the front door with instructions to call a staff member to come collect the check.

Request for Inspections

All inspection requests must be called in before midnight for next-day inspection. When calling in an inspection request, you must provide: address, permit number, name and contact number of contractor, type of inspection, and your name.

Cancellations & Re-Inspections

Call our hotline number for inspections or to cancel an inspection request. To cancel an inspection request, leave the above information and give reason for cancellation. All cancellations must be received before 8 a.m. All re-inspection requests will need to be called into the hotline number.
