First, the City has launched a “Shop Cleburne” campaign. We are partnering with the Cleburne Chamber of Commerce and local businesses to offer a discount or rewards program to customers who choose to shop in Cleburne. We will provide a list of participating businesses on our web site for shoppers use to access and use of the program.
Second, we will post a link to your company’s employment opportunities on our web site to help you fill vacant positions, and to help our citizens find employment. Job training opportunities, skills enrichment and resume writing and interviewing training will also be offered through our local Workforce Solutions Office and/or Hill Community College, Johnson County Campus.
Third, we encourage your company to register as a vendor with the City of Cleburne and other governmental or taxpayer funded entities in Cleburne and Johnson County. Each year, the City and these other entities spend millions of dollars with vendors for goods and services and we want to keep our business in Cleburne as often as possible.
Lastly, we want to encourage every citizen of Cleburne to enjoy the many entertainment and recreational activities available to them within the City. From the new Cleburne Golf Links Course, Splash Station, Cleburne Youth Complex, Plaza Theatre and Carnegie Players Series, Layland Museum and Cleburne Library and Booker T Washington Recreation and Activity Center activities. Cleburne ISD also provides many events through out the year whether it be athletic events, drama acts and plays or scholastic or UIL competition events. There are regular activities and events open to Cleburne families throughout the year.
This stimulus program is being publicized in all City publications, on the City’s web site, on the City’s cable access TV Channel 28 and in all of the City’s electronic newsletters and email subscription services. The City does not maintain a vendor database. The city utilizes Onvia DemandStar to maintain vendor contacts for all commodities and services.
