Shattered Dreams There are many community services provided by the Cleburne Police Department. We work with the Cleburne Independent School District to conduct a “Shattered Dreams” program semiannually. This program educates high school students about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. The program includes a mock fatality accident, obituaries written by parents, goodbye letters written
by students, a funeral service, and the punishment of the dr unken driver. We have found this program to be very successful and look forward to the program to be conducted in 2007. RUOK RUOK is a program offered to the members of our community. RUOK is a telephone system that makes a call to a person’s residence at a set time
every day to check on their welfare. If the telephone is not answered and we have received no notification that the individual is not going to be home, an officer is sent to the home of the person to check on them. Bicycle Patrol For special events such as the 4th of July, Spring fest, and parades, the Cleburne Police Department utilizes a bicycle
patrol. The use of bicycles allows our officers to interact more readily with the public and also allows for a quicker response in crowded areas.
They also conduct bicycle safety courses to school children. Community Service Programs We offer a wide variety of community service programs and presentations to the public. the most
requested programs recently have been those involving Identity Theft and Fraud Prevention.
