On January 29, representatives from the Cleburne Chamber of Commerce, along with airport staff, pilots, and members of the public celebrated the official opening celebrations for Cleburne Regional Airport’s newly resurfaced runway and parallel, adjacent taxiway. The project began in February of 2021 and cost approximately $5.2 million, all of which was paid for by the CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act.
The work included fully replacing the base underneath the pavement, along with the pavement itself, replacing runway/taxiway lights, and re-painting markings.
Also during the ceremony, Airport Manager Sharlette Wright was presented with a commemoration certificate signed by US Senator Ted Cruz (Rep.).
We hope everyone will come visit and let us know what you think! We are proud of our growing airport.
Our next step will be resurfacing our ramp area and pavements surrounding many of our hangars.
