The Cleburne Public Library received a 2024 grant to promote reading and literacy within local communities.
The grant program—funded by the U. S. Institute of Museum and Library Services and Texas State Library and Archives Commission—aims to bring awareness to the importance and benefits of reading aloud, provide information and resources for equipping, and offer modeling and interactive opportunities to practice reading aloud.
The intended audience are parents, caregivers, families and children in our community from October through April.
The library will offer three new book clubs: Family, Juvenile and Picture Book, limited to 5-7 family units. The library will give away copies of the title to keep, read together and enjoy the read aloud, read together experience.
Registration is required because space is limited. One book will be provided per family to keep. Call 817-645-0934 for details.
