Alarm Permits


The City of Cleburne has permitting requirements for all residential and commercial alarm systems. Cleburne Ordinance 104 requires annual permits of all residential or commercial alarm systems and establishes a fee structure for alarm permits. Applications for permits are available online and at the Cleburne Police Department, located at 302 W. Henderson St., Cleburne. Alarm Billing

The City of Cleburne requires all active alarm systems within the city limits to have a permit with the city. Residents and business owners will be able to pay and register by mail, in person, or by phone. If  paying by mail, please allow 3 business days for permit issuance. Records Office: 817-645-0988.

Permit and False Alarm Fees

The annual registration fee for residential and commercial alarm systems, as well as renewals, are listed below. It is the permit holder's responsibility to advise the Cleburne Police Department of any changes made to your account, such as cancellation of alarm permit or any key holder information. Any and all changes will need to be made in writing, either by mail, fax or email. The annual permit fees are as follows:

New Permit Fees-Residential:

  • New Alarm Permit Fee: $15.00
  • Renewal Alarm Permit Fee: $15.00
  • Late Fee after 30 days: $20.00

New Permit Fees-Commercial:

  • New Alarm Permit Fee: $50.00
  • Renewal Alarm Permit Fee: $50.00
  • Late Fee after 30 days: $20.00
No Alarm Permit Fees 

  • No Permit: $50.00
  • False Alarm with no permit fee:  $50 for 1st offense in a 12 month period; $140 for each additional offense if within a 12 month period from previous offense.

False Alarm Fees

  • 1st-3rd false alarm: No charge
  • 4th - 5th false alarm: $30.00
  • 6th - 7th false alarm: $75.00
  • 8 and up false alarm: $100.00
*Video-verified alarm systems will receive a 50% discount on permit fees. A video-verified alarm system is a monitored alarm system in which a trained central station operator uses live video to confirm an intrusion before calling police.
