The City Council voted to extend its local disaster declaration regarding COVID-19 to the next City Council meeting on May 26.
Having a disaster declaration allows city leadership to issue special regulations to protect the health and safety of Cleburne. It also allows the city to be eligible to apply for relief funding from the state and federal government. The Council first adopted the disaster declaration on March 13.
“I think we have a good game plan to remain ahead,” Mayor Scott Cain said.
Mayor Cain reminds the community to continue to practice healthy habits such as practicing social distancing and proper hygiene. He also reminds the community that the City and Texas Health Cleburne are offering free testing for Cleburne and Johnson County residents Monday through Friday.
For more information about testing and to make an appointment visit the Cleburne Drive-Thru Testing webpage or call 817-645-0964.
