Cleburne is seeing some new businesses come to town as commercial activity picks up.
City staff presented an Economic Development update at City Council’s July 27 meeting. The presentation highlighted new businesses, economic news, and some residential information.
Economic Development manager Grady Easdon mentioned businesses that are new to Cleburne including Lifecycle Biotechnologies, Orthman Conveyors, Cleburne Nutrition, From Staged 2 Sold, Sandoval Photography, Waymaker Labs, Ride N Safe, On the Road RV’s, Quest Diagnostics, Forever Young Hair Studio, Legacy Scrubs & Supplies, and more.
So far in 2021, the city has issued 16 commercial building permits. Compared to 9 up to this point of the year in 2020. Fiscal year-to-date sales tax through July is up 15.13% compared to this time last year. The unemployment rate in Cleburne is 5.8%, which is below the state rate at 6.6%.
