Cleburne’s Streets Division has outlined the 15 streets it plans to improve this summer as part of its 2022 Streets Maintenance Program.
The City Council reviewed the proposed street maintenance that will repair 6.5 miles of roadway across Cleburne. Construction is scheduled to begin this summer.
The streets on this year’s list are Yellow Jacket Drive, Anglin Street, Third Street, Turner Street, Euclid Street, George Street, Oran Avenue, Nolan River Road, Wilhite Street, Whitenack Street, Wilson Street, Peacock Street, Kouns Street, Willow Creek Road, and Holloway Street.
To select this year’s road projects, the city first conducted a city-wide street condition survey. Engineers studied the data to recommend maintenance projects that would have the most effective impact on the infrastructure network.
The repairs will use a variety of resurfacing techniques depending on the roadway’s needs. The work will range from mill and overlay to full-depth reclamation. Some of the streets will first receive utility improvements before road work begins.
This year’s work is a continuation of a multiyear process that has improved 26-miles of streets throughout Cleburne. Last year, crews repaired 8,360 potholes, and in the last six months have placed 6,158 tons of asphalt in street repairs, and applied 836 gallons of crack sealant.
