Councilman Mann Named as Mayor Pro Tem, Applications Being Accepted for SMD2

Councilman Mike Mann

The councilmember of Single-Member District 3 (SMD 3) has been appointed to be Cleburne’s new mayor pro tem, which will take effect in the new year.

Mike Mann was approved to be the City’s next mayor pro tem at the council meeting on Dec. 13. A mayor pro tem acts in place of the mayor in the absence of the mayor.

Mann will officially begin his new role on Jan. 1 when Councilman Christopher Boedeker, of Single-Member District 2 (SMD 2), takes on his new position as Johnson County Judge.

To help fill Boedeker's vacant SMD 2 council seat, the City Council is inviting all interested and qualified parties to submit a letter of interest. View more information about that here.
