[ARCHIVED] Public Works Supervisor Named All-Star Employee

Ron Taylor

The City of Cleburne's STARS program recognizes staff members who go above and beyond to help serve the community. The latest recipient of the All-Star Award is Ron Taylor, the City’s water distribution supervisor.

Taylor was nominated for the way he jumps into action to handle emergencies. Thanks to his quick action and calmness under pressure, two separate main water line breaks that occurred on the same day were fixed without further incident.

“It is due to Ron's years of experience, and the expertise and expectations that he has instilled into his staff, that all staff worked so cohesively together to make two very potentially catastrophic situations seem routine,” said water utilities superintendent James Randell, one of the people who nominated Taylor.

Randell went on to note that the crew members in the Public Works Department respects and admires Taylor, which is very much needed when they have to work nights and weekends to fix an emergency.

Taylor has been working for the City of Cleburne for more than 30 years. He received a City shirt and $50 gift card for winning the All-Star Award.

The All-Star Award is usually given out monthly. Anyone can submit a nomination by contacting the employee’s department. Each All-Star winner for the fiscal year is put into the running to become the City’s Superstar, which is the highest recognition in the STARS program.
